About the website

July 11, 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the United States, which was publicly announced on July 11, 1997, in Bucharest, on the occasion of the visit of the American President Bill Clinton.

In order to highlight this important anniversary of bilateral relations between Romania and the United States, the Romanian Embassy in Washington designed and created this website, www.romania-usa.ro. In doing this, the Embassy benefitted from the support of partners Agerpres, Romanian Television, the Diplomatic Archives and Trencadis, as well as sponsors: Banca Transilvania, CEC Bank, Eximbank, Hidroelectrica and Kaufland.

The website presents key diplomatic moments, instrumental in the development of the bilateral relationship between Romania and the United States that began in 1880, details about the most important pillars of the partnership, events dedicated to its 25th anniversary, as well as the latest news on the evolution of diplomatic relations.
