25 years of Romania – United States Strategic Partnership: “The Transformative Power of NATO Enlargement”
The Embassy of Romania to the United States and Meridian International Center in partnership with Aspen Institute Romania, Friends of Romania and Romanians of DC organized on May 10, 2022, a discussion on 25 Years of Romania – United States Strategic Partnership: The Transformative Power of NATO Enlargement with a keynote address by Mircea Geoană, NATO Deputy Secretary General.
The event included welcoming remarks by Ambassador Stuart Holliday, CEO, Meridian International Center; introductory remarks by Ambassador Andrei Muraru, Ambassador of Romania to the U.S.; and will feature as speakers Ambassador Marc Grossman, The Cohen Group; Ambassador Paula J Dobriansky, Harvard Kennedy School; Ambassador Alfred Moses, Covington & Burling, LLP; Dr. Daniel Hamilton, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies; and Steve Clemons, Editor at Large, Semafor.
“There would have been no better way to mark the special anniversary of our Strategic Partnership than together with one of those who shepherded its launch in 1997 – Ambassador Mircea Geoană, NATO Deputy Secretary General. Over 25 years, our Strategic Partnership has constantly developed, embodying a shared agenda of security and prosperity. It lives with the times as it is pushed forward by the people”, said Ambassador of Romania, Andrei Muraru.
